GH uniform

At Glen Hills, we are proud of our distinctive school uniform. We fully expect all pupils to wear the Glen Hills uniform which is all available to buy from the school reception.

Our policy for school uniform is based on the principle that school uniform:

  • Promotes a sense of pride in the school
  • Develops a sense of community and belonging to the school
  • Is practical and looks smart
  • Makes children feel equal to others in terms of appearance
  • Is regarded as suitable clothing for school
  • Is considered by parents as good value for money
  • Is designed with health and safety in mind
  • Has a positive impact on behaviour and attitudes in school

We will always act reasonably and sensibly in accommodating religious requirements, providing they do not pose a threat to security, safety and learning, or compromise the well-being of the school community.

If parents require an exception to any rules for medical or religious reasons, then a letter from a doctor or religious leader to the governors is required.

  • Children should bring coats in inclement weather.
  • All uniform should be clearly labelled with the child's name. The school cannot accept responsibility for any lost items.

  • Pupils are allowed to wear earrings but we ask that they are removed for swimming and PE sessions.
  • Bangles can be worn for medical or religious reasons. Teachers will not take responsibility for jewellery.

General Appearance:

  • Children must not wear nail varnish, make up or any stick on tattoos.
