Schools have the freedom to spend the Premium, which is additional to the underlying school’s budget, in ways they think will best support their pupils. The money is given to schools for them to address the inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers. The aim of the grant is to close the gap in both attainment and progress.
We assess the impact of the measures in place through termly data analysis and the use of the deprivation tracker. The Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed yearly by the Pupil Premium lead and the Senior Management Team.
Principles
Schools are free to spend the grant as they see fit, but are required to provide evidence of the impact of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) yearly. This is linked to improvements in pupil outcomes. The PP governor also meets regulaly with the PP lead to monitor impact.
Please see the report below which details the funding received and how it has been spent at our school.
